The Harlem Opera Theater Presents: A presentation of gifted emerging and professional artist singing excerpts from
composer Kurt Weill's historic opera "
Lost in the Stars", set in a village in South Africa and
Composer George Gershwin's opera "
Blue Monday", set in a cafe at the intersection of 135th and Lenox Avenue in Harlem. In Celebrating Black History Month, the Harlem Opera Theater will also perform a
tribute to
Dorthy Maynor, soprano and founder of The Harlem School of the Arts.
