Arcimboldo inspired Art from Studio in a School...

This was an exhibit at a school that is very lucky to have Studio in a School. It is an excellent program that deserves funding and expands horizons. Another good not-for-profit is the Material for the Arts. It helps supply many other great not-for-profits.

We have learned to fly the air like birds and swim the sea like fish, but we have not learned the simple art of living together as brothers. Our abundance has brought us neither peace of mind nor serenity of spirit. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Hand & Arm Painting...

Yes, This boy said, "with flames all around..."

I know, you must be wondering what this is a picture of? Well it wasn't suppose to look like my dear Aunt Lucy. It was to be a princess but I didn't have that traditional princess in mind. LOL

I usually don't paint on children's faces unless they really want it but I did do hands and arms. What I find most interesting about this are the requests. A lot of crosses that night. A real religious group of pre-teens. lol
The images are from two events that I had volunteered for... a Halloween Party and an EID celebration.

Ms. Jenny of SMARTER TODDLER...

Ms. Jenny of Smarter Toddler has made another wonderful project for A Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. I love how she incorporated the words of the children. This helps personalize the image.

A Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats... 2011

If this looks familiar to you it's because these images were re-created from one of my favorite winter books, A Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.
Ezra Jack Keats is one of my art heroes and I admire his entire collection of children's books. His collages are beautiful and timeless. Keats work is an inspiration to me and this project.
I have an earlier post with another take on this book.
